203 George Street
Built circa 1871, this modest dwelling is almost overwhelmed by the atypical gambrel (barn) roof and the classically inspired entry portico. The charming Italianate arched-top central dormer features delicate quatrefoil and scalloped trim details above a triptych (triple) window, in stark contrast to the simple shed roofed dormers on either side. The narrow arch-top shape of the middle windows is echoed in the similarly-shaped attic vent at the side wall peak, while the metal fence helps maintain the integrity of the corner lot.
