
Colonel Beverly Robinson Homestead: Visiting the Remnants
Archaeologist Jason Jeandron will lead a walk back in time along the floodplain of the St. John River, identifying former shorelines and discuss the changing landscape and traditional use of the area by New Brunswick's First Nations. The event concludes at the structural remains of the homestead of Lt. Col. Beverly Robinson (1754-1816), a Loyalist in the Loyal American Regiment. Artifacts from the initial archaeological excavations dating to approximately 4,000 years ago will be on display. Meet at the south end of Burpee St. (Nashwaaksis/Fredericton North), view map, at 1pm sharp. Wear suitable clothing for weather and for uneven but level ground. Rain date (Sunday) June 28.
