391 Brunswick Street

391 Brunswick Street

This refined brick house is representative of many early brick residences in the downtown which did not survive urban redevelopment. Its mate stood across York Street and like many similar structures fell to the wrecker’s ball, making way for 1970’s "progress" and the brutalist concrete mall/office structure which now dominates and entire block. 391 Brunswick Street’s early 20th century design features a medium hipped roof, a unique gable dormer with a half round window on the upriver side, decorative brackets, and a well–proportioned central front porch
