Guidelines
Items proposed for inclusion for in the Fredericton Heritage Icons List should be or represent an important part of our history or have contributed in a significant way to the heritage of the Fredericton area. They will have won a lasting place in our minds and memories.
The items nominated may relate to our social, economic, cultural and natural heritage including flora and fauna, objects or places or traditions. They would not normally include individuals or buildings, which may be recognized in other ways. (An element or part of a building maybe considered where it possesses a noteworthy feature or is symbolic of an aspect of our heritage capable of being recognized separately from the structure itself.)
Nominations can be submitted by any member of the public (excluding Fredericton Heritage Trust Board members); there are no residency, membership, age or other requirements. A nominator is required only to provide as much information as possible requested on the official nomination form. That form must be used in order for the nomination to be considered by the selection panel.
There is no public recognition or release of the name of the nominator(s).
Nominations may be submitted electronically or by mail. Click here for a copy of the nomination form in Microsoft Word format or here for PDF format.
